Gloria

Avila

Colombian

1957 -

Gloria Avila

Gloria was born in Cartagena, Colombia.

She completed university studies in social communication and graphic arts at Javeriana University in Bogota. At the same time, she attended the workshop of Colombian artist David Manzur to study drawing and painting.

In 1992, when she settled permanently in Switzerland, Gloria continued her artistic research and illustrated scientific books, children’s books, as well as poetry. For more than ten years she has been carrying out an in-depth investigation into the means making possible awakening, as well as the development of artistic expression capacity in adults and children.

Gloria’s work is deeply symbolic. It is anchored in the here and now through an immersion in the universe of emotions, sensations and the five senses.

Gloria teaches this vision in her workshop in Switzerland, through her program “Ars Creandum” or Mindfulness applied to artistic expression.
