Born into a family of artists, just as comfortable in the plastic arts, in lithography as in engraving, Monique Flosi lives and works in the magnificent setting of the hamlet of Fontaube, between Gordes and Saint-Saturnin-les- Apt.
Between philosophy and occult sciences, drawing inspiration from mythology, Monique Flosi, painter, thinker, portraitist, fresco artist and gifted engraver, works in constant research by expressing the anxieties of this world.
A poetic, dreamlike and scientific world, which she describes with her own words, her chisel, her pencil or her brushes.
She engraves with a fierce desire to eradicate what haunts her, collusion and challenge, curiosity of life or enigma of the future. Achieve maximum intensity with minimum means. Always get to the point with an inner vision that reconstructs reality.
Reconcile matter and spirituality.
In perfect symbiosis with nature and plants, Monique Flosi has a very special tenderness for ancient irises and their symbolism. She dedicates to them, with each flowering, all her talent and her passion, entering into a kind of meditation, which she receives as a therapy, a particular energy, a dial of life.
His dreamlike nature refers to silent contemplations, in a magical world made of dreams and chimeras. (Text by J.B., Accent de Provence
A thousand miles away, Monique FLOSI’s dreamlike nature sends us back to silent contemplations. The poetics of the inner gaze and the technical assurance of the hand guide us, from the white embodying chimeras, into a magical world whose sizes and contretailles shade and seal the edge. The intaglio tradition celebrates the dream ritual here. Text by Martine Simon
